Our Club has a long history of International participation having hosted foreign exchange students, and hosting visiting GSE teams from other countries.

For many years we have been providing support to the Fundacion Hogar Infantil Madre De Dios orphanage in Cali, Columbia.  We have provided bedding pads, Christmas gifts, other items AND with the help of the Rotary Foundation and District 7330 a van to transport the kids around Cali.  We are now working on securing additional materials and raising funding for installation of a well on the grounds of the orphanage.

We also have an annual donation by individual members, which is matched by our Club, to fund water purifying biosand filters to be installed in family homes in the Domican Republic.  To date the McMurray Rotary has funded over 500 of these filters, which means we are providing clean water to almost a 3,500 people every day!

Another international project is the ongoing funding of the ShelterBox project.  This is a program managed by a Rotary Club in the UK.  Each ShelterBox contains a tent large enough for 10 people, a cook stove, pots and utensils, and various other items to provide shelter for disaster victims around the world.  Whenever one of our three boxes are dispatched we provide funding for a replacement box to be ready for the next disaster.
