McMurray Rotary Club is the Peters Township-based chapter of Rotary International. We are a part of Rotary District 7305 encompassing Southwestern PA. We support the philanthropic efforts of Rotary International, our District, as well as local causes and programs where we can have an impact. Aside from fundraising, we provide multiple opportunities for members to have an impact in our community via service work, programs in the schools, community initiatives, and more.
Rotary is a great way to get involved in your local community while supporting philanthropy on an international level.
Chartered in 1965- Club History
Since 1965, McMurray Rotary has served the community through hands-on projects and the distribution of raised funds. We have put over $1,000,000 back into the community since our founding.

Frequently Asked Questions and More Information
Who can join McMurray Rotary?
Anyone excited to support their community is welcome to apply! Rotary is nonpolitical, nonreligious and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. Our current membership includes men, women, working parents, young adults, retired professionals, stay-at-home parents, and more! We are excited to bring new and diverse members to our club.
Are you a networking organization?
No. Also, there are no professional requirements or restrictions on membership by vocation.
Why do people join McMurray Rotary?
Connection and service are the most cited reasons our members give for joining McMurray Rotary Club. We develop friendships while benefitting our community.
What can I expect at a Rotary meeting?
The meeting begins with the pledge of allegiance and a moment of reflection. Our meetings usually have a speaker – either a member or a local organization sharing about causes and programs of interest. We cover club business, upcoming social events, fundraisers, and opportunities for service. We also take a few minutes to share the good things going on in our lives with each other.
When and where does McMurray Rotary meet?
McMurray Rotary meets most Wednesdays at 7:30 am at Kings Family Restaurant 580 McClelland Road Canonsburg, PA 15317. Many of us get there around 7 to chat. We usually are in the back meeting room. We generally wrap up around 8:30 am and lunch is available. We move one meeting per month to the evening at various locations. *Please check our online calendar and social media for dates and details*
What if I can’t make a meeting?
In the past, Rotary had strict attendance requirements. This is no longer the case. While we love to have you attend meetings regularly, we understand that life, work, and family does not always make that possible. What costs are involved?
Membership is only $30 per month, billed quarterly. This covers Rotary International dues and club operating expenses. Meeting meals are not included, you are welcome to order off of the location’s menu.
How can I get started?
First off, please visit us for a meeting or event to meet us, get a feel for our club and programs, and get any information you need. At a meeting, you can connect with our members in leadership who can provide you with an application. We can’t wait to meet you!

The 4-Way Test
From the earliest days of the organization, Rotarians were concerned with promoting high ethical standards in their professional lives. One of the world’s most widely printed and quoted statements of business ethics is The Four-Way Test, which was created in 1932 by Rotarian Herbert J. Taylor (who later served as RI president) when he was asked to take charge of a company that was facing bankruptcy.
This 24-word test for employees to follow in their business and professional lives became the guide for sales, production, advertising, and all relations with dealers and customers, and the survival of the company is credited to this simple philosophy. Adopted by Rotary in 1943, The Four-Way Test has been translated into more than a hundred languages and published in thousands of ways. It asks the following four questions:
“Of the things we think, say or do:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Fellowship & Friendship
While service is our focus, McMurray Rotary is a great place to meet like-minded people and develop lifelong friendships.
In additional to our social events, we’ve recently introduced our own pickleball group for McMurray Rotarians, Impact Members, and spouses/partners.
