Shepard's Heart provides aid to homeless veterans to help them reenter the community.  Interact decided to pitch in and hold a clothing drive to get gently used professional clothing for the vets to be able to dress appropriately for interviews and when hired.  Additionally the Club opted to host a dinner for the vets on February 8th.  Here's a description of the evening from Judith Alexander, Interact Coordinator for PTHS - - -
Just wanted to let you know that we had about 13 students, three parents and two sixth graders take dinner to homeless veterans in the uptown section of Pittsburgh.  I would have loved to take pictures but it did not feel right.  We thanked them for their service to our country and made a lovely pasta dinner. We served home made spaghetti sauce (provided by Andrea Salazzoni's Nana), bow tie spaghetti with garlic and oil, wonderful toss salad greens, Italian rolls, butter and home made desserts created by Maria and Kenna Kuhen.  We also took donated professional clothing - told them there would be more to come. We also had beautiful Valentines made by our students at PV and Bower Hill.
The following week the Club loaded up a vehicle with clothing they had collected and many Rotarians had donated, then delivered it to Shepard's Heart.  Following are a couple of photos of the clothing with the participating Club members.
